In my MVP renewal post I mentioned that I was making plans to start a meetup of my own. Well, here it is! Together with Hans Muns I’m starting Cloud & Code Oost, a meetup for developers in the east of the Netherlands who work with .NET, Azure and AI.
If you live in the east and want to go to a meetup, you usually end up in the car to Utrecht or Amsterdam. I hosted DevSessions Zwolle from 2024 to 2026, and I wanted to bring something like that to the east as well, so I decided to start one together with Hans. Every edition takes place at a different company in the region, anywhere from “the Achterhoek” to Deventer, Arnhem, Zwolle, etc..

The first edition is on Thursday, November 12th, from 17:30 to 22:00 at Covadis in Doetinchem. Covadis provides the room, dinner and drinks, and attending is completely free!
I’m really happy with our two speakers. Fons Sonnemans is a 13-time Microsoft MVP and will show what’s new in C# 15, which is only a few days old at the time of the meetup. After that, Ruben Scheedler gives his talk “Dokter, mijn agent doet raar”, about AI agents that work fine in a demo and then start doing weird things in practice. You’ll go home with a checklist to fix that!
We start with dinner at 17:30 and the first talk begins at 18:40. After the second talk there’s time for drinks and to catch up with people from the region. The talks are in Dutch, unless a speaker or the audience prefers English.
