I’m writing this post with a lot of excitement, once again! I’ve received the notification that I’ve been renewed as a Microsoft MVP for the Developer Technologies category! This is already my third renewal, and I’m still just as grateful and excited as the first time! I forgot to write a blog post about this last year, but I did want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and share some of the things I’ve been up to.
Looking back at the past year, I’ve been busier than ever sharing knowledge with the community, and I’m very proud of everything I’ve been able to contribute!
On the speaking side, I’ve had an amazing year traveling around Europe. I spoke at NDC Oslo, DWX - Developer Week in Mannheim, .NET Day Switzerland in Zürich, and .NET Developer Conference in Köln, and I was once again on stage at WeAreDevelopers World Congress in Berlin in front of 15000+ attendees! Looking ahead, I’ve already spoken at Swetugg in Stockholm and NDC Copenhagen, with Øredev in Malmö still coming up later this year. Besides speaking at these events, I also keep organizing DevSessions Zwolle through my work at Arcady, which continues to be a great way to bring the community together closer to home! On top of that, I’m also making plans to start hosting a meetup of my own, so stay tuned for more on that!
I’ve also kept writing! One of the highlights this year was getting to write a guest post for the official .NET Blog on combining API versioning with OpenAPI in .NET 10, which was a really cool milestone for me. I also wrote about shipping an agent skill that installs itself.
Something I’m especially proud of this year is that I’ve been able to contribute directly to the .NET ecosystem itself! I landed several pull requests in ASP.NET Core, mostly around improving the OpenAPI document generation experience, and I also got to add IReadOnlySet support to System.Text.Json in the runtime itself. Getting to contribute to the frameworks I use and talk about every day has been a really rewarding experience!
I’m sure I’m forgetting other things, but these are definitely the highlights that stand out to me. Here’s hoping for another renewal next year! I’m looking forward to another year of speaking, writing, and contributing to the community!
